Important Winter Course Registration Reminders
The course I want to take is full. What can I do?
If a class is “closed” it means there are no available seats left for enrollment. Although it may seem helpful to ask the class instructor for permission to enroll in a full class, the instructors do not have authorization or access to over-enroll a full class.
You can continue to monitor Mosaic for an opening in your desired course until the end of the add/drop period, which is Tuesday, January 19, 2021 for the Winter 2021 term. In the event that additional seats can be added to a class, they will be added and released to all students at the same time, rather than to specific students by request.
Why are there class restrictions in a online class?
To ensure an optimal learning experience for registered students, faculty offices cannot over-enroll a closed course. Although the courses will be offered online in the Winter 2021 terms, there are still class capacities and restrictions we must adhere to for the Instructor administering the class.
Can the instructor waive the pre-requisite for a class I want to take?
Instructors cannot waive pre-requisites. They are created by the Area/Department responsible for the course and approved by the Faculty. The rationale for the prerequisite is carefully vetted to ensure an optimal learning experience, and cannot be overridden by your instructor.
We recommend that you log into Mosaic to search for other potential courses that could fit your needs.
