Undergrad Student Research Awards (USRA) – Black & Indigenous Scholars

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Fall 2024 Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) are intended to nurture interest and fully develop the potential of undergraduate students for a research career. These awards provide research work experience that complements your studies in an academic setting. You are permitted to hold a USRA during a co-op placement.

  • Amount:
    • $6000, supplemented by McMaster
  • Internal Deadline for Applications:
    • Tuesday, September 3
  • Timeframe:
    • Fall 2024 – 14 to 16 weeks on a full-time basis (35 hours/week, e.g. co-op placement)
  • Eligibility:
    • Candidates must identify as Black and/or Indigenous and be an undergraduate student
