Meet Kristen John, Office Assistant:

What do you do and how long have you been at DSB? I’ve been an office assistant at the Student Experience Office for almost a year! I perform administrative duties such as booking advising appointments and assisting students with academic inquiries. I am also involved in academic projects that are established to improve the quality of education for DeGroote students.

What is the best piece of advice you would give a new student? It’s important to find a good balance between your study and social life. The friends made in your first year can determine your entire university experience so try your best to fit in social outings between study time for some much-needed breaks!

What is your favourite hobby? Going on long hikes to listen to entire Taylor Swift albums!

What is your favourite food to bring for lunch at work? I bake/cook a lot so my leftover goodies (mainly pizza and pastries).

What is your favourite book or podcast? The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
