Susan Sproule came to academia from a background in engineering, construction and management. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. Susan has a B.Eng (Civil), M.B.A. and a Ph.D. (Management Science/Information systems), all from McMaster University. She has taught a variety of courses in the management of information systems, statistics and operations at both McMaster University and Brock University.

Susan’s research interests are in how people and organizations use information systems. Specific areas of interest are human-computer interaction and decision support systems.
As part of a recent post-doctoral fellowship, Susan participated in a large interdisciplinary research project on identity theft, involving researchers from four Ontario universities and subject matter experts from the banking industry. As part of this project, she developed and analyzed the first comprehensive Canadian consumer survey on identity theft and is frequently asked to provide information to the media and to speak to interested groups.
