Description
The confluence of the COVID-19 crisis and Russia-Ukraine war have led to disruptions of unparalleled magnitude and put supply chains in the spotlight. The cascading effects of these disruptions uncovered vulnerabilities in global supply chains that triggered changes and a new normal requiring resiliency, disruptive innovation, and sustainability.
Professor Elkafi Hassini, Associate Dean of Research, DeGroote School of Business and Chair of the Smart Freight Centre along with John Ferguson, President and CEO of Purolator, will join us for a fireside chat. They will discuss how to balance the need for resilience and mounting pressure for social and environmental performance through innovation. This discussion will also shed light on how the long-lasting changes born out of the COVID-19 Pandemic, such as just-in-case planning, last-mile delivery innovations, as well as the notion of friend-shoring may impact future supply chain operations.
What to Expect
This foresight session will integrate perspectives from the industry and from applied research, providing attendees with the latest management thinking and industry best practice to future-proof their supply chains and learn how to be best prepared, whatever the sector.
