AACSB Accreditation

The DeGroote School of Business has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) since 2006.

The AACSB was founded in 1916. It is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Only 856 business institutions — approximately 5% worldwide — have earned this distinction. It is considered the highest standard in management education.

To maintain accreditation DeGroote undergoes a rigorous review every five years. We must demonstrate our continued commitment to 15 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, and interactions of faculty and students. We must also demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement and the achievement of learning goals in our degree programs.

It takes a great deal of self-evaluation and determination to earn and maintain AACSB accreditation. Schools not only must meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and staff must make a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure continued delivery of high-quality education to students.

Jerry Trapnell, Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International
